The Most Important Thing to Billy Grady
The brightest kid on the block was not me. At seventeen, I made a choice to
start drinking Alcohol and taking illegal drugs mainly to fit in but also to numb
my life. It wasn’t just the Alcohol and drugs but by eighteen I was really hungry
to fill this emptiness inside so I started on a dating frenzy not with just dating
one or two but five girls at one time. Like I said I was not the brightest kid on
the block and soon I found that none of this was really making me happy.
I met a girl that had happiness in her life and wasn’t doing the things that I was.
So, I asked her out and she said, “Yes, only if I would go with her to Church.”
That’s where someone shared with me about Jesus. I learned what Jesus had
done and who He did it for and why He did it. I felt that Jesus wouldn't want
me because of all the things that I had done in my life but I was shown He
didn't care about what I had done He just wanted me.
Fortunately for me I didn't have to be the brightest kid, just one who believed
in Jesus Christ. My life has changed since I accepted Christ into my life. As I
try to follow Christ I never find myself alone because He is always with me. As I
continue to walk with Him I have peace in my life about whatever situation He
puts me in. My hope is as you read this and have emptiness in your life that
needs to be filled that you would do as I did and ask Jesus to be Lord of your
life.
